The Legal Advisor for Deputy Prime Minister Jose Luis Guterres, Sergio Hornai, has prohibited his client from using state resources like vehicles and close protection security officers during the trial process.

Guterres appeared at the court using his own car and there were no close security protection officers escorting him.

Hornai said based on the law, his client rights of using state resources should be removed, as he has been suspended from his post.

"He is not allowed to use state resources like vehicles, and today he came in his own car and he was not escorted, as he is a suspect," Hornai said.

Hornai added that his client is a citizen who has showed good will in cooperating with the courts with the trial process.
